Yes, we prefer to be left alone. Years ago I worked for a financial firm in NYC. The receptionist was drop dead gorgeous (she was married with a young son) and the bankers constantly harrassed her. She complained to HR and the firm had a 3 hour "sensitivity session" for the bankers. As the bankers were leaving the session (I was standing nearby) many of them stopped to flirt with her, doing and saying exactly what was objectionable.
I learned something from this. People can't stop being who they are, so we have to protect ourselves from them! ha.
