What a rollicking, rich piece, thanks so much. I danced to Stagger Lee shot Billy, too. In fact, I might put it on now. You brought up the film Precious and boy, did that take me back to Philly. I was a musician who'd left performing and so I got a gig as a casting director. A young black guy came to visit one day, from Hollywood, and he and I became fast friends. It was Lee Daniels, who has gone on to produce and direct many films. Lee could talk you into buying your own socks, he was a charming guy. Wee bit crazy, but then, so was I. ha.
