Well-written and concise. I would add to this that as an investor, picking stocks on my own, that it also requires you to watch the market, if not daily, almost daily, and read constantly.
A few years ago I lost a lot of money investing in a biodegradable plastics company. The stock skyrocketed, the company was garnering all kinds of awards and so I dumped more money into it.
Then my mother got very sick, was in hospice and I stopped watching. The CEO was totally corrupt and took off, leaving investors with pennies.
Lesson learned. I'm selling some of my biggest earners to go into index funds.
