This morning I got a lovely Valentine’s Day meme from a dear friend with the note: Let us live in love today.

I wrote her that I would do so. I would stay in a “love” state.

What a perfect notion for this day devoted to love and romance.

After pouring my coffee I checked into BlueSky as I do most mornings. The scroll of bad news was like a windmill of heartbreak. Ou suis-je? (French translation: Where am I?) There seems to be no air of relief, of forgiveness, of kindness. There is only the hammer of hatred, deceit, and cruelty from the new administration towards working people, brown and black people, and women. The opposing sides of MAGA and the progressives continue to bash each other, getting nowhere.

It’s stifling in here! I need to get some air.

And so I struggled to get out of the angry state many of us fall into every day since the inauguration. I struggled to find something good about my country. Some reason to love my country. Some way to love my fellow Americans.

Another friend stopped by to drop off firewood since I was all out and another winter storm is about…

Scorpio living out my karmic life. The internal life is most interesting to me. Illumination, expansion, humor. Politics along the way.
