Really good read, but may I point out that self-examination/self-knowledge helps one to avoid these jobs? I could've pursued high money jobs, long hours, weekends, etc but I was devoted to my music and art, and so work was only a relative function of my life and identity. Additionally, I did not want to be devoted to the big hairy monster of greed and acquisition of goods. So, I skipped on by and had modest jobs. It worked better for me. I never got lost in the maelstrom of overwork. Be good to yourself.
