I started writing as a songwriter. So, it's my orientation to writing. I have always thought that the most brilliant emotional writing comes from young people. Their emotions are still at the top of their being. Probably why it's hard being young.

Hopefully, applying the principles you cite here, a writer is still writing later in life. The writing is different, I find. More reflective (heck, you've lived longer) and maybe a pearl or two of wisdom.

But I love young people's writing, and follow many here on Medium.
