Dan, what a satisfying finish! Two things occurred to me while reading your piece. First, while I don't enjoy reading/hearing/seeing misogyistic content, I'm glad it's out in the open nowadays. It can be addressed, as you did. Secondly, I was surprised you didn't mention Mary Magdelen, who was by many accounts, closest to Jesus during his public life. Men in the church didn't know what to do with her, so they said, oh, she was a prostitute, oh, she was possessed. Deep reading of coptic gospels, including the Gospel of Mary Magdelen show this was not the case.
